An undergraduate minor in social science - American studies is offered for students majoring in other fields. This minor is particularly appropriate for those students who anticipate significant use of the broad critical and analytical skills and understanding that American studies embodies.

The social science minor in American studies is for those who wish to develop these additional marketable skills with the substantive fields offered.

Minor Requirements

Required Courses (12 Hours)

  • U.S. Economic History (3)*
  • Modern U.S. History, 1945-Present (3)
  • American National Government (3)*
  • Studies in American Society (3)

Note:* May be substituted by a lower-division course.
