Ann Blaas: Rampaging Down the Path

Dates: January 21, 2025 – April 30, 2025

Rampaging Down the Path��is an exciting collection of paintings that blend graffiti-inspired abstraction with bold, expressive mark-making. The artist repeats gestures and patterns to create movement and energy, building areas of tension and release throughout the work. Mixed with poetic references, these pieces invite viewers to explore the balance between chaos and control, spontaneity and intention. This exhibition encourages students to engage with the artwork in a personal way, discovering their own interpretations within the layers of color, form, and rhythm.

Ron Kroutel: Landscapes and Figures

In Landscapes and Figures, Ron Kroutel unites his lifelong exploration of the human figure and the landscape, depicting scenes that blend real places with universal human emotions. His paintings of Southeast Ohio place figures in familiar yet timeless settings, while his more recent works reflect his engagement with the stark landscapes of Northern Colorado.

Kroutel’s current focus on pure landscapes explores the tension between preservation and change. His paintings of the threatened Glade Valley examine environmental and ethical questions, while the untouched Soapstone Prairie offers a poignant contrast. Through bold compositions and expressive technique, Kroutel invites viewers to contemplate our connection to the land and the forces that shape it.

Rita Grendze: Modulators

Modulators��explores the evolution of Grendze’s artistic practice through daily drawing and newfound experiments in ceramics. What started as a brief sketching ritual became a vital creative outlet during times of change. As drawing grew in scale and complexity, it remained a steady foundation amid shifting life rhythms. A recent dive into ceramics introduced fresh challenges—embracing volume, pattern, and risk with joy. This work reflects a journey of adaptation, exploration, and creative transformation.

Ian Merritt:�� Perception - RURAL v. URBAN

Perception – RURAL v. URBAN, is a striking collection of mirrored landscapes that blend natural and man-made patterns. Each piece begins with a single image or video, duplicated and arranged to create endless, intricate designs. Inspired by nature’s symmetry and urban geometry, the work explores the contrast between what grows naturally and what we build. No digital manipulation was used beyond exposure and color correction—only practical techniques like mirroring and rotation. These captivating visuals challenge our perception of the rural and urban landscapes that shape our world.
