As a mathematics student, you will gain a broad understanding of concepts in algebra, geometry, calculus, physics, and statistics. At least one course in computer science is required—though more may be elected—preparing you with the technical skills needed for many mathematical career paths.

If you intend to pursue a career as an actuary—a risk analyst—you can choose the Actuarial Science concentration within the B.A. in Mathematics degree. Actuaries are often employed by insurance companies, investment firms, and other industries affected by risk.
